Band and Choir competed in the UIL held at Legacy High School March 25 -27. For each group the competition included both a performance of a rehearsed piece and a sight reading performance. For sight reading they don’t know what they’re performing until they get in the room.
Band director Loy Studer was very proud of his students.
“They have tried to do everything that we have asked of them,” Studer said. They have come a long way and are on par with any 5A group. They have done things this year that people said we would never be able to do at Legacy. They have set the bar high for the program and we look forward to them doing more great things.”
Choir Director Sarah Cook was excited about UIL this year, how well every group sang and that they were able to bring home the school’s first choir plaques and trophies.
